pinkeye
Anyone using it yet? I uploaded the software this morning and can't really spot any improvements apart from the "in private" option so you can browse without any website history being added to your machine, useful if you want to look at anything let's say specialised on a shared computer!! AfroP
IE8 is a head and shoulders above IE7 in terms of speed and stability its also currently the most secure browser on the market as was discovered at the recent black hat event in Las vegas Safari on a p/c is the least secure this was proven by the hacker that took top prize on the day by intruding into a system running safari in an unbelieveable matter of seconds running the same hack attempts on IE8(whilst it was still in beta stages) took far longer
pinkeye
Are there any features that a casual user would find useful or discernably different from IE7 though?
AfroP
Are there any features that a casual user would find useful or discernably different from IE7 though? Just that its alot quicker and more stable than IE7. You also have the option of a compatibility mode which allows you to run the page you are viewing as if it were in IE7
pinkeye
Yes, I noticed that, my system I use for work is a web based one and some of the menus seemed out of line etc but, clicking the compatability option straightened all that out.
ennyoueffsea
It lasted barely 24 hours on mine before it was hoyed back off. I'd heard before-hand that it was slow to initially load, but that it was faster than IE7 once it was up and running. I found it was painfully slow to load and also much slower for me than IE7 for browsing. Back on IE7 now.
