Parky
Trying to give this bloke 70 years for breaking into Nasa is a joke. Perhaps there is something to hide?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyIlHG9TJBM&feature=related

Dokko
End of the day you cannot possibly feel sorry for him, he's a muppet, did he think he'd get away with it? And shouldn't he serve jail time for his act? The 70 years is harsh, but that's the max, the min is what he'll get which will be 20 years, out in 10 for good behaviour if he survives and possibly only serve 6 months there then the rest of the 5 here after appeal (as we won't keep him in for that long). Wouldn't it be better to not let him be extradited. He looked at some Nasa files about 5 years ago...Who cares? He didn't even download anything. He should be punished for his crimes, and his crimes were against the Americans. Those files he was looking at hold sensitive information, whether you want to think its ET type files or files containing $billions of info he should be jailed for it. BlueStar
Is the implication here that because a country goes apeshit when a foreigner illegally accesses the infrastructure of their multi-multi-billion dollar space programme that they must be hiding some X Files shit? Yes, I would be alerted to a previously overlooked security issue. I'd rather have them arrested for trespassing. With it being data, just looking at data is theft, you don't need to take a hard copy, he could be smart and written down any info he needed, he went in with intent, he should be jailed an d probably will be. Lenny
I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable of sources, but it does say "McKinnon remained at liberty without restriction for three years until June 2005". Surely if he'd found something he'd have said something in that time?
