Electrical storms

How fun/frightening are they?

I'm sat on site in one of a number of metal cabins and lightning just struck one of them sending sparks flying everywhere and causing a load of nearby house and car alarms to go off.

It's now absolutely bucketing it down and there's a massive clap of thunder every 30secs or so.

I was in the Hertz car rentals car park which is right next to one of the runways at Heathrow.

As we stood there, Concorde took off, creating such a noise that it must have set off about 500 car alarms at once.

Shortly after, a very put-upon looking Hertz employee came out, carrying about 500 car alarm fobs, and looking very, very pissed off.

Fucking mint one a few years ago, water was shooting out of the drains about 7 ft in the air, cars were sweeping through 2ft of water and drenching charvers, it was fucking hossing it down and we were watching the sheet and fork lightening from out my mate's attic windows with Kraftwerk's "Das Boot" blasting out at full volume.

Love 'em, in general, but one time last year was scared to death running through a wood as a ma-hassive storm raged overhead. Rain coming down in sheets and absolutely pitch black except for when, every few seconds, the lightning lit up the entire forest and the surrounding countryside, illuminating all the cows going fucking mental in the field next to the track. Really great experience, but I was sure I was going to die.

Turned out to be a half decent day in North Tyneside. The sky looked full of clouds this morning, looked certain that it was going to rain.

Yeah this, had a sweat on coming up the road earlier. Although that's probably because the printers was shutting at 2.30pm and I needed to get there to collect my gear before it closed, so I was kind of half running.

Clouds have cleared now though, looking alright.

It's been like that up here lately, gorgeous sunny weather all day followed by really heavy, relentless pissing rain for two hours, and then it getting sunny again. Just mental.
