MidfieldGeneral
I'm having problems browsing certain torrent sites, mainly btjunkie and mininova. I have a desktop and a laptop and can't access said sites on either. I've just sent my mate a url to both and he had no problems. Can anyone tell me why I can't browse them when they are obviously up and running ? Cheers

Guest Lazlo
Not answering your question but a solution. Try logging onto mininova through a proxy site like http://hidemyass.com/ If you can log on through that then you know it's your isp that is blocking it. Dave
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/06/18/be_bittorrent_trackers/ Be broadband denies BitTorrent ban By Chris Williams Posted in Telecoms, 18th June 2009 13:30 GMT Be broadband has denied accusations from customers it is blocking access to popular BitTorrent trackers including Pirate Bay and Mininova. Reports that several trackers were unavailable began to emerge yesterday morning. The problems are understood to be ongoing. In the wake of the forthcoming anti-piracy measures announced in the Digital Britain report on Tuesday, subscribers immediately sensed a pre-emptive mover by Be, which is owned by O2. Not so, the firm said. A spokesman said engineers were looking into a routing problem, but specifically denied any blocking. Be told customers: "There appears to be an issue affecting some of our IP ranges accessing some networks mainly in Sweden and the Netherlands reigons. Whilst a lot of the torrent sites may be hosted in this region it is actually affecting multiple destinations on these particular networks and is not limited to just torrent sites." A fix was expected soon, the spokesman added. ®
