madras
do belgians have charvas ? what do they call them ? what is a radgie gadgie in swedish ? we have plenty of folk on here from round the world with many languages between us. this can be our one stop shop to find out if society is the same throughout the world and how it translates. i'd like to know in different languages the terms for... charva (young type who survives on welfare and stealing, always wears tracksuit bottoms, has several kids to several "slappers". soft as shite but wouldn't think twice to stab you in the back or burn your house down) slapper (consort of charva, usually spotted in scrunchy and wet look hair, will suck your shit to a point if promised a bottle of lambrini) radgie (elder sort of charva)

Other regional variations or synonyms include Neds, Townies, Kevs, Charvers, Steeks, Spides, Motleys, Bazzas, Yarcos, Ratboys, Kappa Slappers, Skangers, Scutters, Janners, Stigs, Scallies and Hood Rats. hate the word `chav` though

Shak
In Dublin they call chavs by the term "scobes". Not sure where that came from. The term "knacker" is used for most kind of scumbags though, kind of an all-encompassing way to describe people you want to sty clear of as best you can. cp40
what about scrubbers, i once rented rooms to two students from brum, when i bought my first flat. They asked me if i would take them for fish and chips and park the car in the meadowell so we could watch the scrubbers go about thier business. a bit like going to the zoo.
