If you're like me and like to have your game fully up to date I thought we could all post in here what we all feel needs updating and what should be updated. It saves the official thread getting clustered as well.

For example Pav to the Toon, Cech's skull being destroyed, any managerial and staff changes etc.

So include anything in here since the game's started that has happened.

Don't forget anything else such as staff preferences and things like that as well you feel should be altered.  :winking:

Terry Mac, should be deleted.

Anyways, copied from SI forums thread.

Hello editors.

The following are a short list of key suggested English data changes that are easily made by using the editor. Hopefully by making these changes you will a) gain confidence in using the editor and b) have some of the more annoying errors eradicated in your new FM2007 game!*

We have kept this list short and hopefully sweet, and when an official data update is out there will be many more changes. No attribute amendment suggestions are included as they are subjective, so the following are merely factual errors that were made.

Before making these suggested changes, please choose 'edit' and select 'load all player histories' to be able to amend the Davis error.

To find a player, type their name using this format: Surname, Forename. (eg Boulding, Michael). Use 'edit, find' to find a player or non-player.

Incorrect retirements to amend - Go to configurations in the Player Data then amend the retirement field at the bottom of that page

Michael Boulding (Mansfield) - take out the retirement date

Gareth Griffiths (Northwich) - take out the retirement date

Incorrect wages to amend - Go to person data and then select contract

Phil Smith (Swindon) - should be £500pw not £6500pw

Steve Coppell (Reading) - should be £5000pw (estimate) not £10pw.

Andy Awford (Oxford) - should be £500pw not £2000pw.

Wayne Rooney (Man Utd). A bug is meaning that his international ban

Ian Roper (Walsall) - forename incorrectly spelt as 'Ia' in game. - go to player and amend his forename.

Darío Silva - Just search under 'Silva' and he will appear. Then select 'Person type' and select Non-Player.

Jack Webster (S****horpe) - is English and not from Equatorial Guinea!

Clive Woodward (Southampton) - now left club.

Duplicates

Unfortunately you cannot delete a player, so the following duplicates in the database need to be replaced. These dupes were unfortunately missed as they were spelled differently in the two instances

Blair Tomlie (Hibs) - is a dupe of Blair Tolmie (Hibs), so just go into the Tomlie file and change his name and details, perhaps to add yourself, or any other new player you wish.

Eddie Odihambo (Leicester) is a dupe of Eddie Odhiambo (Leicester), so just go into the Odihambo file and change his name and details, perhaps to add yourself, or any other new player you wish. Odhiambo also now has squad number 33.

Martyn Woolford (Frickley) - is a dupe of Martyn Woolford (York), so just go into the Woolford (Frickley) file and change his name and details, perhaps to add yourself, or any other new player you wish.

Suggested new individuals to add in their place are:

Kurt Robinson (Ipswich) DL - b 21/10/89 in Basildon. 1.73m, 72kg CA 53 PA -7 (go to 'Player data>Reputation'), PT contract.

Chris Roberts (Torquay) Chairman. 37-year-old Scot, joined club 13/10/2006.

Nigel Doughty (Nottingham Forest). Chairman. Est born 1963.

NB - There are two Craig Johnston's at Workington. Please note that this IS correct.

Club info

Aston Villa - cash £60m, transfer budget £20m - in finances section of club data, subsection 'general'.

Colchester - amend six-letter name to Colch - in details section of club data

Southend - amend six-letter name to Sthend - in details section of club data

DO NOT FORGET TO 'SAVE DATABASE' AFTER MAKING YOUR CHANGES.

* You should NEVER edit the default database but instead save to a new database (the editor shouldn't let you overwrite the original) and you can choose which database you wish to use when you are creating a new game.

That should tide anyone starting a game in England over.

Some of those are pretty funny.

Phil Smith (Swindon) - should be £500pw not £6500pw

Steve Coppell (Reading) - should be £5000pw (estimate) not £10pw.

Andy Awford (Oxford) - should be £500pw not £2000pw.

Darío Silva - Just search under 'Silva' and he will appear. Then select 'Person type' and select Non-Player.

Some stuff Toon's Taylor has previously posted.

In the demo i just left training, and concentrated on my formation, tactics and team.

Did alright, won every game i should of, but wasn't impressed with the data, so stopped playing the game.

Things like giving Luque 134 current ability, when in 06 he was 165+ when he joined the toon, before that 180+ its just biased, and silly.

SI have never been able to make a honest database, they are more media biased than they care to think.

When i get the full game, this wont be a problem.

Some people might think this is cheating, and i simply don't care. When they have stats like Heskey (the year he moved to Birmingham and he scored 24 league goals (in the game, about 3 in real life) in one season) - shooting -17, then i know i have the right to edit to my opinion, not the way they see players.

I cant say without playing the game for at least a season, i open up a word doc, and enter what i think needs changing. Then do so when i want to start a new game.

A lot of the time you get some dodgy foreign player who's been well over rated sign for peanuts and become the best player, because he's great in that country, and the stat to league ratio is well out.

I stop unrealistic moves from happening for starters, that could mean putting a dislike in a players profile, or limiting his valuation.

For example, Rosicky kept moving to Chelsea after 1 season for £33m, even though his average was under 7 in the league, i disliked Chelsea to him.

Example, Curtis Davies moving for £12m+ fee's when anything near £7m would see him gone or Chelsea going for £25m Yakubu, again IMO, i just put a fee release clause in there, up to the club to resign it out.

I end up with a much more realistic game, yes im taking control, but i dont get something happen in the game which make you think fuk off, no chance would that happen, coz when that does happen, i just want to start again.

Edit: Also, the near enough main reason is a random stat, and open stat which could be anything, and can ruin a player, or really make him. Sometimes they dont scout enough and leave it open, this can have serious effects on a player, and this can even be like this for players in the EPL, but mainly that foreign player bought for peanuts.
