SEMTEX
Does anyone have any experience with FreeNAS? I'm looking to install it tonight, but my UNIX knowledge is minimal at very best. I will also be looking to install sabnzbd+ usenet downloader and dyndns (if possible). Basically, if anyone has used said product, please declare this and I will use you as a knowledge base for my inevitable questions. Consider yourself warned. p.s. I am expecting no-one to have used this bad boy
danswan
I have FreeNAS running on an old box here, but I don't use either of those services - just RSync to backup the various machines in the house. I also know absolutely nothing about Unix but theres lots of info out there.

wacko
Dyndns is just a simple script. If the machine is also your router, you call the dyndns script from your pppoe up script. If you have a separate router, you can probably run dyndns on that instead. Otherwise, use a cronjob on your FreeNAS to run the dyndns script every hour or so.
