had an HTC Tytn II for almost 2 years now, really functional apart from the gash camera.

the use of a keyboard is amazing, lets you do so much more than a regular touchscreen.

quite a lot of apps for it altho not as 'cool' as some of the iPhone stuff.

screen light cuts out during a call which can be irritating at times.

All iPhone tariffs have unlimited "free" browsing and access to all BT Openzone and The Cloud wifi networks.

Free apps are free, Apps that aren't free cost money. :)

I love my iPhone. The general community is what makes it what it is tbh. Massive app making community, easy download of said apps and websites etc all doing their best to appeal to the iPhone market.

So if I was to buy one:

1. is it expensive to unlock?

2. 'All iPhone tariffs have unlimited "free" browsing and access to all BT Openzone and The Cloud wifi networks.' would this apply even if my sim was vodafone?

3. Is there much of a difference between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens?

Really dont ave a clue like!

Just emailed a guy regardng a 2nd gen 8g one, he's looking £90 for it.

1. is piss to do for free, but you need be aware of the DANGERS

2. no

3. iPhone --------------------- country mile ----------------------- iPhone 3g -------------- iPhone3gs

(point 3 is guess work, and be aware i've got a 3g, not a 3gs!)

If that is an iPhone 3g he is an idiot.

Neither.

The deal to supply the Palm Pre is apparently going to be announced next week and the HTC Hero is due out soon too.

There's a pretty unbiased review of the iphone vs the Pre.

Ah I have never looked back since you linked me to that site many moons ago at work. It answers all of my technological needs, that or Dave.

I love articles like that simply because you spend 15 minutes reading them and finally you reach the conclusion that you're still non-the-wiser as to what phone you should get

Just depends which one of those categories you value most really.
