Reclaiming Credit Card Balance / PPI. Anyone Done It Successfully

Filled in an online form about 2/3 weeks ago which basically asked about what debt you have. I've about £2,500 on one of my credit cards which I sent them details of. (Season tickets x 5)

Got a call back off them today saying I had a good claim and a very good chance of getting it cleared. Now you're already thinking what I'm thinking I'm sure.

Proceeding from here they want me to pay £500 to get a barrister on side to fight the case. The £500 will (they say) be fully refunded if at any point they feel a claim in court will fail. They even suggest putting the £500 on the same card and then get that cancelled also. They reckon they do so many of them that they never get it wrong if it goes to court and it'll be refunded if it fails. So, 'how do you get paid'? I asked. They apparently claim there costs off the credit card company on completion of the claim being won by them. A bit like a no win-no fee basis I'd guess.

www.keroboclaims.co.uk    is the company. Anyone ever had any dealings with them? Should I give it a bash or should I tell them to fuck off?

You can do it yourself for not very much money at all. I will PM you with some details. Do NOT pay the £500.

Was hoping folk might have similar experiences. I've told them I'll call them back later in the week to give me chance to have a look at things.

Don't know anything about that company but I'm pretty sure you can only reclaim on PPI if you can prove you were aggressively sold or mis-sold the insurance. This used to be the common practice, if you were sold it face to face there's a very good chance you'll win the claim. When did you get the PPI?

Basically these are the mis-selling catagories

Were you told or sold the wrong thing?

Were you self-employed, unemployed or retired?

Had you had medical problems in the past?

Has your provider already been fined for PPI problems?

These companies are Egg, Alliance and Leicester (A&L), GK Group Limited, George White Motors Limited, Ringways Garages (Leeds) Limited, Ringways Garages (Doncaster) Limited, Park’s of Hamilton (Holdings) Limited, Liverpool Victoria, Land of Leather Ltd, HFC Bank, Capital One, GE Capital Bank Ltd, Redcats, Regency Mortgage Corporation, Loans.co.uk.

Were you sold a ‘single premium’ loan policy?

Is you can say yes to any of those catagories you have a good chance of reclaiming.

Should have been clearer - it is actually a breach of terms and condition by the credit card company they reckon is unenforcable. Not PPI (I'll go into my car loan if / when this gets sorted out)
