This is a very dangerous prediction for me, but I am duty bound to put it out...

Nearly. It's actually an entire nation though. Called Scotland.

There are already many bacteria which eat oil

they cause all sorts of shit when some loon pumps dirty water into the oil reservoir undergorund (done for pressure maintenance)

the bacteria get munching on all them lovely hydrocarbons and "biodegredation" sets in  which not only screws up the oil quality (and therefore the value) but also produces H2S - which is fatal

big problem in the former USSR where the idiots sometimes dammed a local stream and just pumped it all down the hole without any filters..............................

the frogs did quite an amusing scientific paper 10+ years ago about it - I'll go look

I know Rob. But get that paper for me.

I'm talking about a very hungry and radical strain probably produced in a lab that turns oil to a jelly like substance and eats at such a prodigous rate it would wipe out the Saudi supply in a month.

Would the jelly be edible?  This could be a useful spin-off for children's parties  bluebiggrin.gif

et voila - the whole thing was like this.........................   bluebiggrin.gif bluebiggrin.gif bluebiggrin.gif bluebiggrin.gif

"the bacteries are regalent with the linear molecules They find the ramifications more coriaces... and frankly indigestible cycles... They do not spit cur certain aromatic They accomodent the ends of the pulpit with a little oxygen.... ... el cuts them in small pieces"
