Unless theres an injury which makes you fail a medical then play little over 4 days later?

Loads of Man United players get those injuries, usually the medical is before an international match and then they're fighting fit for the league game the next week.

I think it's called "Fergietightarse-itis".

I think you're getting mixed up with Liverpool, namely Steven Gerrard.

Well if he plays tonight we can be sure that he didnt fail a medical........or rather more likely never actually had one.

Do you think Ledley King would pass a medical?

It was something to do with him recently having knee surgery a few months ago i think.

What a rediculous statement(and attempt at quoting)

Ledley King CANT manage 2 games a week for gods sake its a totally different situation to this. :idiot2:

Sorry about the quoting error - the problem was quickly ameliorated.  The point was that there are people who would fail medicals and then play 4 days later.

Whilst we're at it 'rediculous' (sic).  Sort yourself out before acting in a condescending way towards others.

Wow you must feel 100 times better now i have spelt a word wrong. That really does make your post less stupid.

The fact is Ledley King is a pathetic example given his shocking knees. Medically he is knackered whereas this kid clearly isnt and any injury picked up on a medical would be extremely minor and would never prevent him signing especially when he flew straight to the N Ireland base afterwards(assuming he was ever here)

A medical is all about the insurance. All there to determine whether a player is 'at risk.' It was like RvN, failed a medical at Man United, went home to get fit and prove his fitness then did the injury the medical showed him as at risk for, missing the season. so basically, in a couple of weeks chances are Cathcart will no longer be at risk and pass the medical so he can get the insurance.

Erm you are wrong.  There are many reasons why a player could have an underlying injury or problem that could lead to a failed medical and yet the player could play a few days later.  Why do you find it so difficult to admit you're wrong?  As James rightly points out if there is a worry over insurance the transfer won't go through.

Ok if in fact the reason for this is as James said then i will admit i am wrong, until then i will continue to not beleive it for one second.

might put on hold any loan move for Cathcart?

Doubt it tbh, they have Brown, Fabio and Rafael to cover the RB.

Speculation that Newcastle would make a loan move for Manchester United defender Craig Cathcart has ended with confirmation that he's signed for Watford.

The Northern Ireland U21 international was close to joining the Magpies permanently in a deadline day transfer, only for the move to collapse - apparently on medical grounds.

Cathcart moves to Vicarage Road on loan until January, amid newspaper claims that Newcastle were unable to complete a deal due to financial constraints.

But "financial constraints" is related to the permanent deal, isn't it? Or we couldn't afford the loan either? In the second case the situation is serious, cause it would confirm that Llambiarse is only looking for players whose wage is paid by their club...

they've given 2 fairly contradictory reasons as to why the move broke down. strange.
