Mr Logic
http://www.home-2009.com/us/index.html Excellent movie featuring the stunning photography of Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the renowned aerial photographer. edit: to add - It is 90 minutes long and it takes about 15 minutes into the film until it gets to humans, but from then on it gets more and more interesting. What we have done to the planet in the last century and in particular the last 50 years almost defies belief. We talk quite seriously sometimes about what we could do as individuals or as a collective to get rid of Ashley. How often do we consider the bigger picture. What significance does NUFC have in relation to a planet without resources? Is that our problem, we are so focused on the individual, the self.. like the ephemeral mayfly, but on a slightly longer timescale, we have no regard for tomorrow. Our children can identify 40 out of 50 corporate logos by the time they are 10 years old. I can't help but remember a line from the Matrix that compares humans to a virus. I could imagine aliens from a distant solar system compiling a documentary of Life on Planet Earth, they would surely deduce we were an insane species! Nearly 1 billion people are close to starvation. Over 50% of grain traded around the world is used for animal feed or biofuels. "The cost of our actions is high, others pay the price without ever having been involved.."
