Segun Oluwaniyi
I dropeed my laptop down a flight of stairs about three or so weeks ag, and it has not started since. I am thinking this may be a problem with the hard drive? I am just wondering how one would go about getting the hard drive fixed and recovering the information. Also, how much does this usually cost? SEMTEX
I'd hazard a guess that you're more likely to have dislodged something from the motherboard or something. Hard drives are sturdy bastards and modern drives tend to have defence mechanisms when dropped.
Nobody
Like mr pinrubber says, I highly doubt it's the hard drive. Of all the components in a computer, the hard drive is probably the sturdiest. What happens when you try and turn the computer on?
Segun Oluwaniyi
Thank you for the assistance. When I try to turn it on the computer turns on, but then it says that Windows failed to start. I am given three or so options, and regardless of which one I select the computer gets stuck and eventually goes to Blue Screen of Destruction. I was thinking that maybe it was hard drive because beofore the incident, the laptop would occasionally restart/freeze for no reason and make loud grinding noises. I thought the fall was the final straw, though I suppose it also could have caused new issues.
khay
loud grinding noises might very well suggest the HDD.
