If you're 19 and have been working somewhere for a year or more as a trainee do you then qualify for the development rate (£4.77)?

Think it's only based on age regardless of how long you've worked there. Pretty sure it's just a way for employers to shaft young workers, tbh.

I've been looking on the web like and it appears that the above is the case, however it is now £4.83 an hour. It's a fairly decent amount really for minimum wage - or maybe I just don't realise how shit it is because I've never been paid more than that yet, haha.

 

Oh well, I think I've sussed it now anyways, Iwas just looking for a quick answer and I thought I'd ask my trusty N-O clan.

Not reading through any of that, i thought a development or training wage can be as little as the employee wants to offer until you are fully trained?
