If you had to read about a certain aspect of the club, what would it be?

Cant help you with this, if you can think what to write about then you have no new and exciting insight into any of the subjects, therefore you know as much as we do on each subject, thus making it another piece of chip paper story....so do us a favour and write something about Phil Brown saving the world its my favourite topic. Thats all, as you were...

In July 2007 Mike Ashley purchased Newcastle United. The cost to purchase all of the shares was £134 million.

Chris Mort was appointed as chairman for one year to run the club on Ashleys behalf, and the club started the season under the management of Sam Allardyce.

However despite a good opening weekend win at former club Bolton, results under self-styled Big Sam were not very good and included providing Derby County with their only win of the season as Sams team played defensive & negative football week after week, incurring the wrath of the fans in the process.

Allardyces sacking inevitably followed, and the club surprised everyone by appointing former manager and player Kevin Keegan (know as The Messiah) as the new manager. Initially Keegan struggled to re-adapt himself to Premier League management as the team waited a number of weeks for their first win. Keegan however devised a revolutionary system employing Michael Owen behind two centre forwards in a three pronged attack and results improved as the end of the season appraoched.

The club had a relatively busy summer signing Argentinean internationals Jonas Gutierrez and Fabricio Coloccini as well as Danny Guthrie from Liverpool and the relatively unknown Sebastien Bassong from French club Metz.

However the club and supporters (particularly Jon) were disappointed by James Milners decision to ask for a transfer request having not been rewarded the new contract he felt he deserved, despite having only having signed a new one the previous summer. Milner was ultimately sold to Aston Villa for a fee in the region of £13million.

This meant the club now had substantial funds to spend and fans went into the last week of the transfer window excited by Keegans judge me at the end of the window statement.

Transfer deadline day came and.....

Ah fuck, up to the 300 word limit just there.

the youth team as thats the only positive thing still left at our club

I wouldn't even say that the youth system is. Not until we get a group of players who actually come through the first team and can hold their own. Last decent crop we had that came through together would be Clark, Watson & Elliot. (Not counting Thompson due to Keegan getting rid)
