Setting Up Static IP Address (Port Forwarding)

They're two different topics like.

 

If you're talking about an internal static IP address (192.168.x.x), then you do it like so...

Port Forwardng is dependent upon your router. You go into your router settings panel (normally http://192.168.0.1), and you add a port forwarding rule on the port you've been told to forward, to the IP of the computer in question. Each router is different though, Sky for example don't ever reference "Port Forwarding", it's called something else on there (You add a 'service' and then activate that service). Anyway, for non-ISP branded routers, here...

For ISP branded ones (BT, Sky, etc), I would just google it / goto their support sites.
