ChezGiven
Nirvana at the Riverside in Newcastle in 89. Their first ever gig in Europe, we were invited backstage by Kurt for a bottle of Brown and chat about smashing guitars up. They were supporting Tad. GG
Los Campesinos! last month. Merely because I had Gareth's sweaty chest in my face for a few minutes, was inches away from the band and had the most fun evening in my entire existence. Yorkie
Can't say i've personally been blown away by a gig before; i've only really done Leeds Fest. Metallica was impressive if a bit over the top, Prodigy was an experience, and i can remember being at the side - well back - for Bloc Party, just looking at tens of thousands of people jumping up and down all at once during Flux, that was an impressive sight. I'd probably only irritate the music snobs if i said what my favourite ever gig was, so i won't.
Interpolic
This is too hard, can't narrow it down to 1. I'm not that into them anymore, but Arctic Monkeys at the Casino Club was completely surreal. A band whose album wasn't due out for another 3 months, blitzing their way through a gig with everyone singing the words back at them. The first real example of the power of the internet for bands, and also it was a great gig tbf. Also, my first gig was Doves (supported by Elbow) and I'll never forget that one. And Ian Brown at Glasto when he opened with 4 Stone Roses songs - I was so fucked on shrooms that I thought they'd reformed until he moved on to his solo stuff. Keefaz
Best I think was Interpol at... V (I think). Turn On The Bright Lights had been out for about 6 months or something, and the place was fucking rammed. Intense as fuck.

Shak
Standout gigs I've been to were. At The Drive In - One of my first proper gigs, I was only 16 and had to use a fake ID to get in. It was absolutely fucking mental. Tool - Saw them in Amsterdam while absolutely off my face on mushrooms. One of the most intense experiences of my life, I saw things that just aren't possible. Les Savy Fav - Best atmosphere I've ever been part of. Small venue, everyone going absolutely wild, they're so much fun live. Lead guitarist stood around smoking with us for about an hour after the gig too, which was nice. The Evens - Ian MacKaye, of Fugazi fame, side project. Very intimate gig, the place was about the size of a large living room. Roger Waters - Best sound quality I've ever heard at a gig. Add that to 'Dark Side of the Moon' played in its entirety and you've got a pretty good gig. The Jesus Lizard and Slint get honourable mentions.
