The Prophet
On the upside you get to spend time with the family, have an amazing dinner made for you and got to the pub but on the downside its a lot of effort and money for one bloody day. Fenham Mag
Love it. More important question: Presents: Quantity or Quality? For me , there's nothing better than seeing a massive pile of presents there on Christmas morning.
Interpolic
On a side note does anyone find wrapping presents a massive pain in the arse? its only going to get shot out anyway. I like wrapping presents and find it therapeutic for some reason. I love Christmas. It's great how you grow to love it for different reasons - it used to be about the presents when you were a kid, but now it's just mint to have time off work, go back to Wahlsend and get pissed all day. Aye, the entire Christmas-new year period is amazing for that reason. Tons of football, loads of people off work, you can just take root in the pub. Nobody
Love Christmas. Hate the build up though. Give me the evening on the 23rd, when you've done most of the work and got everything to look forward to.
robbo_11
I've worked the last two years and will be working again this one. I would rather not, but with a few older people working and having kids I don't mind doing it as I get to have New Years off and its triple time. Ideally the place would close, but they like to keep it open. What amazes me is the people who come in to buy washing up powder or a few sweets, why not wait a day? Its almost as if because somewhere is open they have to go in and spend money.

I used to work in a call centre booking driving tests while I was at Uni and they'd do a sweepstake each year on how many calls they would get on Christmas Day (we weren't open). It was always hundreds.

Jill
Hate the run up to it, hate shopping as I can never afford to get anything good, and I hate the thought of others scrimping around for cash to buy me something just for the sake of it. I do love actually spending the day with my family and seeing friends etc over the Christmas period, but hate the present side of things.

GM
I love Christmas Day, but there's parts of the whole "Christmas experience" I just find totally reprehensible...like the fact it's got fuck all to do with anything other than rampant commercialism - things like being forced to "enjoy" the office Xmas party or take part in an office "secret Santa" fucks me right off. Could do without that shit, tbh.

Got asked if I wanted to join one today, I politely declined (as I don't really know many of the others in it anyway so wouldn't know what to get them) and the person who was asking took the huff! You asked me, you dumb bint, and I answered.
