22 inaugural members of the Premier League were Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea, Coventry City, Crystal Palace, Everton, Ipswich Town, Leeds United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Oldham Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, and Wimbledon.

That's only 9 survivors................

If we update that to now...

Aston Villa................P 676.................Pts 974

Tottenham...............P 677 ................Pts 919

Newcastle................P 616.................Pts 906

Everton....................P 676.................Pts 882

So 60 games in hand and we're still in touching distance, ahead of, or have a better points per game record than 3 of the clubs who've been there the whole time.

Is that supposed to be a surprising statistic?

All this "all-time Premier League" stuff is bollocks. It's just a continuation of the old First Division. Football history didn't begin with the top clubs' greed for more cash.

agreed -mind some of the "founder" PL teams have slipped a longggggggggggggg  way so there is hope that we'll see ManU in Div £ (trad counting) one day.......

it's when you look OUTSIDE the League and see all the teams in things like Blue Square North who were once in the League that you get a surprise 'n aalll

Slightly off topic does anyone know what that site is where you can see the league table for this stage in previous years?

Slightly off topic, but who is the owner of that fine bra in your avatar?

Absolutely well said, Ozzie.

Talk about football as if it began in 1992 and you ignore over a century of history whilst buying into a marketing plan.

Luton Town, though dont think they where ever in premier league, are the stand outs for me. Remember 20 odd years ago they where winning the league cup and coming runners up. JFK also had a bit part in their demise if i remember correctly. Old Eric would be spinning in his grave
