Never voted, so I doubt I will this time either.

I guess you never complain about the government then?

I take absolutely no interest in politics. I know I should, but I really don't, and as such I don't often complain.

You live and work in the UK. How can you say you have no interest in politics when it influences (could even say determines) pretty much everything in your life? ???

I know they're all pretty much the same wankers these days but the point remains.

Dunno, I just zone out pretty much whenever anything political or government related is mentioned. I'm only posting in here because I'm bored.

Jill you need to watch some well informed political coverage. I recommend ' the Thick of It'

edit.  I figured out some time ago that NO was just a stepping stone on the way to Dave conquering Europe.

Thing is it doesn't have to be on Newsnight to be a political story. For example (this is my specialist subject...), Labour are proposing a new tax that will come in in October. The tax is 50p plus VAT (so you pay tax on tax!) per month for every telephone line you rent to supposedly pay for next generation broadband roll out. This includes Virgin customers btw.

If it comes in you just know we'll be paying it for the rest of our lives, because no government is going to cut off such an easily hidden source of funding. Also, I don't know about you but I have huge doubts as to how much of that money will go where it is actually needed, how much will be thrown at BT (a private company ffs) and how much will simply disappear to pay for new duck ponds, phoney wars and other shite.

The Tories have opposed the tax and say they won't bring it in.

None. Same as always.

Added you an option.

I guess you never complain about the government then?

Nope. Not once.

Fair enough. Is it a 'they're all the same anyway' mentality? I'd be lying if I said I thought any of them would do massively different things like.

Apart from the BNP and stuff, obviously.

Yeah, pretty much.

I'd only ever be voting for one lot as a result of not liking the rest of them more.  The labour government have massively fucked the country over, but at the same time I can't stand Cameron, and I won't vote Lib Dem just because of not liking the other two.

Why worry about personalities though? If you think Labour have fucked us and things have to change, then vote for change. Doesn't mean you have to actually like the alternatives IMO.

As I say, I couldn't vote for something I don't like.

Striving for a positive change? ;)

This is the first time I get to vote, so I'm quite excited tbh.

Gonna vote Green, only because I don't really feel strongly enough about Labour or Conservative to vote for either, and my former German teacher is the candidate for the area. Plus voting anything other than BNP will keep their percentage of the votes down, so I'm encouraging all my friends who can't be bothered to do the same.
