Maximuscle etc.

I recently joined the gym and was wondering if anybody uses this sort of thing and how effective it is. I done a bit of reading on it and it says that it also helps your recovery better sessions which for me at the minute is sore on my muscles and body in general. Does this kind of thing really help or is it just a waste of money and the kind of thing that makes you think your loosing weight when your not.
