Andy Gray is very good at reading the game. But his bias towards certain players (we all know who) ruins him as a commentator.

I agree. The Gerrard and Rooney bias is just

Derek Rae is definitely my favorite for football. I honestly can't think of many football commentators that I like. There are many English ones that are very distinct, and many Nigerian ones that are entertaining and/or quite funny, but only a few I genuinely always enjoy.

Conversely, there are many commentators in basketball that I think are fantastic. Maybe it is just more difficult to commentate football.

Are there any good ones out there anymore?

Some of the stuff Southgate came out with tonight was truly woeful.

The guys on NHL 10 are top-drawer.

That yank with the italian name on 606 is good.

(Can't remember his name) he used to be on Talk Spurt and was good on there too

Bad tempered git with some of the callers, but amusing for all that.

Gabriele Marcotti - looked it up on the BBC site. Mind he's put weight on !
