He's right like. Extraordinary draw or not, it's not DVD worthy.

Not that I think it really matters, it's more about how much of a money grabbing twat MA is tbh. This kind of shit is his bread and butter.

Fuckin helll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is even more cringeworthy than the "get your season ticket now" ad from the '90s - and we took the p*ss for years with that one!

How does Newcastle bringing out a T-shirt of some fat bloke or a DVD of a "draw" with Arsenal rate on your "cringeworthy" scale.

Quite an extraordinary draw wouldn't you agree?

Smacks of small club mentality bringing out DVD's of draws against bigger clubs,it's the sort of thing teams who get good results in FA Cup games do.

That's because we're a small club, compared to the mighty SAFC - da real top dawgs of the NE, destroyers of black and white hearts, 6th in January etc..  You sure taught us a lesson this season didn't you?

Both Newcastle and Sunderland are small/average sized clubs IMO and while we as fans might think we support big clubs, in reality we don't, and until either of us start winning trophies or competing in the top 6 on a regular basis we will be forever known as  small clubs.

i wouldn't so much say that. it was more the circumstance than the team we were playing against. 4-0 down after 26 minutes and managing to pull it back to 4-4 and almost win it at the death. it was brought out on dvd because it was a fucking entertaining game of football, and the only time since the history of football started in 1992 that a team had come back from 4-0 to get a point, nobody could have imagined that result after 10 minutes of the match

I like the premise of the Sunderland ad but still: 'When Gyan scored against Stoke' jesus pick better moments?!

Also there's never 49k in that place, maybe if you included folk walking round the bridges at 3 oclock you might get close...

It was a game that made history. No one had every done that before, and if people want to buy the DVD and relive an amazing football game then there's nothing wrong with that.

or the ones sitting in the pubs watching.

they should realise - the people in the pubs probably dont miss a minute anyways.

they are having street parties tho cos they think they could sell 49k vs Liverpool at £10 a time

Broke Black & White hearts?

Seriously, they still think they won 1-1.

Still love the fact that we got bigger attendances in the Championship than them.

Their standard response to that one is, that most/all of our season ticket holders were/are tied into the 3 year deal from 2008, otherwise we would have had much lower crowds.

I know. In response to that i would remind them that our fans actually commited to the club for those 3 years. We put our money where are mouths are, instead of just claiming to be super-fans with little evidence to back that up.

Wearside, you're a fine one to critiscise NUFC for bringing DVDs out. SAFC bring one out on each rare occasion that they beat their small club neighbours from up the road, while when we win,it's just another derby victory.

Apparently Quinn used the Toon under Sir John Hall and KK era as the selling point to Ellis Short. Something along the lines of spend big and we'll take off just like the Geordies did back in the 90s...
