Is lacrosse big in the UK?

i didn't think it was either, so i's surprised when this kid told about his trip.  he knows i'm a big fan of the toon, so couldn't wait to tell me; but i'm thinkin', 'lacrosse?  in Newcastle?  howay!"

It's a private school sport tbh.

 

ah well, i do teach at one of those.  :blush:

 

 

i was a bit worried that he'd buy his ticket to NE England and then be stuck there whilst his teammates were all in Indiana or something.  :iamatwat:

I've only seen lacrosse in American Pie and the goalkeepers got no chance of saving a shot. 

 

Similar to handball, where the keeper performs a star jump in the hope that he might get smacked by the ball rather than saving a shot.

Being the sad guy that I am, I've googled it....

 

Under 19's isn't on for a couple more years, but the Main Championship is in Manchester this year.
