i think the strawberry and the hotspur used to do 80/.

Cheers mate, they still do,as does the North Terrace apparently.

The Star and the Beehive sell best scotch there the only two places i know.

The Three Bulls Heads and The Spital House also do Scotch apparently too,I'm searching for more though. O0

EDIT:The Blackett Arms and Duke of Northumberland also.

Also, are there many pubs in the vicinity of the Granger Hotel? O0

the mill inn  isn't far but you'd be better just heading straight into town.

15mins walk or £4 in taxi. quite handy for the hospital aswell.

Save your pennies and get a take out. Brighton Grove Indian is brilliant. IMO Newcastle city centre ain't the best when it comes to Indian food.

the simla on the side/dean street is very good as is rasa on queen street and you ought to be able to just walk in.

bring a freezer bag billy as the indian supermarket next to the brighton takeaway is owned by the same people and they same the exact same curries frozen under the brand name bhukira (sp?).
