Guest toonlass
Jonas is fantastic for us and that is a FACT. Any of you who slag him off either don't watch most of our games or you simply do not have a clue. Football is not a matter of opinion. We wouldn't be half as good if he wasn't in our team. No he's not fantastic. He's infuriating. His final ball is non-existent, he can't cross, he doesn't score regularly. He takes on two or three players before losing the ball rather than play the simple pass. He is never going to change and once Ben Arfa is back he shouldn't be in the 1st team. Guest Nikos34
Maybe that was too much of a bold claim but I cannot see how people can say Jonas is shite.

And for all that he put in good crosses yesterday which went to waste, hardly his fault.
Cajun
While Jonas often takes the pressure off our defence he does the same to the opposition defence because he will more often than not give it back to them in one way or another

Ronaldo
Perhaps because Steve Harper looks more likely to score?
Guest Nikos34
We wouldn't be half the team we are without Jonas (I'm not saying we're The Entertainers by the way). He is an effective outlet for us and it's obvious that opposition teams identify him as a threat, along with Jose down the left. If only we had a couple more players who could buzz around him and give him an option and support him when he does get at the oppositon. If we could get our hands on a couple of decent wide men then I'd like to see him given a more central role at times, might be worth a try.
NJS
Funny how when we had a decent centre forward he could never find him with a cross and now that we have shit strikers its suddenly their fault they can't get on the end of his "great crosses". Good worker, shit footballer.

Mick
Funny how when we had a decent centre forward he could never find him with a cross and now that we have s*** strikers its suddenly their fault they can't get on the end of his "great crosses". Good worker, s*** footballer. Both Jonas and Enrique put excellent balls into the box yesterday which went to waste, it's hardly their fault.

There's a difference between a couple of Jose's balls which were inches away from providing goals and consistently failing to come anywhere near to picking out a striker with a pass (over dozens of games). I'd also point out that for a player at this level his shooting prowess is nothing short of diabolical.
Guest Nikos34
I suppose some of you would sooner see Ryan Taylor in the team, yeh? Because he can whip a great ball in....allegedly.

No. If you'd bothered to read my post on the last page I said I would prefer Ben Arfa in the team when he's fit again.
Guest Nikos34
I hope you're right. He looked the brightest young talent in the league before his injury so let's hope it hasn't finished him just yet.

I don't see what difference it makes regarding who played the ball, Enrique and Jonas both put excellent balls into the box yesterday which the forwards failed to make anything from. You were making a comparison between now and a few weeks ago and it doesn't work as far as yesterday goes as the supply was their for the forwards. Hughesy
A scapegoat is definitely needed. I nominate Jonas.
Mick
No. If you'd bothered to read my post on the last page I said I would prefer Ben Arfa in the team when he's fit again. Giving Ben Arfa a free roll in the middle will bring more success to our team than sticking him on the wing where he'll not see as much of the ball. He can play on the wing but I hope that we don't waste his skill and pace giving donkeys chances that he would be more likely to score from.

AyeDubbleYoo
I probably would drop Nolan before Jonas TBH, if he continues his lack of contribution since Carroll left.

Mick
So you would drop Nolan or Tiote before Jonas? I wouldn't play him in the centre of midfield, I'd play him as a second forward and give him the freedom to go wherever he wants. I do hope that we can replace Nolan though. More mobile and seems just as likely to get goals going on what I've seen. Nolan on his day and when fully fit can offer something when he doesn't he is a passenger. Ben arfa is the sort of player that screams free role...provided he's not like forest gump in leg braces
