Thought this game needed it's own thread. I know very little about it but have loved watching these videos, posted below

Map 3

bloody hilarious at times, they're using a mod for Mount and Blade: Warband called Mount and Musket. Obviously rough around the edges but that makes it all the funnier.

Mount & Blade is an awesome game, but it's a) very hard without cheating, b) very repetitive as it's sandbox, and c) a massive time sink (typical rpg in a way but made much longer due to the amount of travel involved ingame).

If anyone is wondering what the standard game is about, it's effectively like starting out as a newbie lone ranger in a medieval kingdom split into various warring factions (and lots of bandits roaming around). You can recruit and build up an army, try to get rich, try to become a king, etc etc, level up your own stats to the extent that you're the equivalent of Brad Pitt in Troy on the battlefield. I like to think of it as a basic Total War game but instead of point and clicking with units, you're a single warrior on the battlefield who can shout out instructions. So a mix of Total War and Braveheart. :D

Aye, its pretty cool like. Controls are a bit awkward, but you get used to them, and the fighting on horseback takes some time to get the timing right, but its class. Totally open, you can go where you want, do what you want, act like you want.

The idea is great, the execution is probably 10 years too late. If this had been released in 2001 it would have blown people's minds. If you can look past the dated graphics, and the ice rink-esque movement/combat there's a fun game to be played.
