Two academy players out of position against the current reigning Champions out on a rampage. Fool-proof.

Which two?

Tavernier the RB and Ferguson the LB. Mind... i'm only assuming with Tavernier; i haven't kept up to date with the reserves but that's where he played at Peterborough last season.

Will be cheering on Manu against Blackburn, hopefully that will take the fight out of them and they play some youngsters. Torres will start if Manu win, if they lose he'll be on the bench and drogba upfront.

Ferguson's a left-winger, as stated in the other thread.

You'd genuinely go away to Chelsea and give a young lad his premier league debut, playing well out of position and essentially on his own in the middle against Essien, Mikel and Lampard?!  ;D

I'm not generally a pessimistic bastid before matches with big sides (including before the recent Man Utd (h) game and the Liverpool (a) game) but this season is over, man. The season was over a few games ago for all intensive purposes. This game is a warm down, a write off.

I've seen Smith et all outclassed on many occasions before, and by inferior opposition too, you might as well throw give players for the future a taste of what's to come/something to work towards.

Ferguson won't be out of position and Tavernier.. well, it'll be an experience for him! Honestly, what's the worst that could happen. We get beat 5-0? Just as likely with Smith (with no match practice/fitness).

From an entertainment point of view, I'd probably enjoy getting the chance to see players I haven't seen as much of before too, rather than the last two weeks of a casual-kick-in-the-park stuff.

No, you forgot to disrupt the back four and swap Taylor for Simpson.
