Not photoshopped, but do you believe it?

Can't get my head around how that can possibly be a photograph.

 

It's even harder with a smaller image, but at this size it's possible. You just have to understand the perspective.

 

I think the shot is taken with the photographer on the same plane as the 'blue' sand which I assume is still in the dark/shade. The orange is actually a sand dune in light, off in the distance and the rocks are actually much larger than they look, just further away.

He's used a big telephoto lens to compress the image.

first reaction was it was heavily photo shopped until i read the text in the link..a massive dune. would never have thought that

 

aye, telephoto lens to narrow the frame, trees in shade with the sun hitting the dune

 

stunning image.
