Syncing Ipad with Itunes? Help

Hello guys

Lately I've had problems syncing my Ipad with Itunes using the USB cable, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, almost depends on luck sort of things. There are three scenarios

a) everything works perfectly syncing and charging

b) Itunes does not recognize Ipad (nothing comes up on the device column on the left) but Ipad is charged

c) Itunes does not recognize Ipad and no charging

What I usually do is fiddle around with the connection, try restarting Ipad and Itunes or sometimes even the bloody computer, but surely there is a better way out there. Wonder if anyone else has gone through this and if there are any solutions. Thanks

Is your iTunes up to date? I think there was an update in the most recent version which fixed syncing with iPads.

Thanks. Yup check the updates and it says it is the most recent version of Itunes. Any other suggestions? Does your Ipad show up on the device list every time you connect?
