Ok guys, I need to make a stupid power point presentation for a stupid course about cross cultural comunication, I picked up England so I guess you guys might help me :snod:

I need to collect these information about english culture:

- How you use to greet customers/guests in restaurant industry

- religion and its importance/less importance

- Favourite/most common topics in the everyday's "small talk"

- How you use to introduce people

- Discussion styles (first names, formal, informal...)

- Punctuality and time management

- Discussion topics (allowed or not allowed)

- Corporate gifts and business cards

- Cultural behaviours related to eating and serving food

- Clothing

- What are the typical ingredients used in cooking and baking?

- What are the typical desserts and the types of beverages?

- What is the order of the meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner etc..)

- What is the main meal of the day?

- What kind of ways are there related to eating in your country?

Whoever wants to help me doesn't need to answer all of the questions, but of course...the more the better  :snod:

Thank you in advance to those who will have pity on me...

This should mean the order of the each meal, I mean if there use to be starters, main courses and desserts, or if you start with a salad etc., something like that.

I need to collect these information about english culture:

Hello, how many people in your party? [or words to that effect]

- religion and its importance/less importance

Increasingly secular society, being aggressively atheist is "trendy"

- Favourite/most common topics in the everyday's "small talk"

Weather/shit economy/crime/shit TV

- How you use to introduce people

"name 1, name 2 - name 2, name 1"

- Discussion styles (first names, formal, informal...)

First names generally.

- Punctuality and time management

Nothing and no one is ever on time.

- Discussion topics (allowed or not allowed)

Everything is allowed, but very little of great import is ever discussed.

- Corporate gifts and business cards

Gifts frowned upon. Independence rules/ethics forbid them. Can be seen as bribery etc. American "summer picnic" office culture is dead.

Busienss cards are still cool.

- Cultural behaviours related to eating and serving food

Probably better off watching Curb Your Enthusiasm to learn all the social etiquettes on this one.

- Clothing

Male clothing becoming more feminine. Female clothing becoming more skimpy.

- What are the typical ingredients used in cooking and baking?

Flour.

- What are the typical desserts and the types of beverages?

Cake/Chocolate. Beer.

- What is the order of the meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner etc..)

Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Wouldn't imagine there were courses for any for most meals.

- What is the main meal of the day?

Should be breakfast, but working culture being what it is  - probably dinner for most I would imagine.

- What kind of ways are there related to eating in your country?

You finally stumped me.

Whoever wants to help me doesn't need to answer all of the questions, but of course...the more the better  :snod:

Thank you in advance to those who will have pity on me...
