RIP

Can still remember Headingley like it was yday (I was there on the Saturday when nowt happened).

He was a very fine fast bowler but suffered with injury which really shortened his Test career, he had a unique action similar to Jeff Thomson though Dilley had a supremely smooth run-up. I remember his 56 in that partnership with Ian Botham and also the fine catch he took just inside the boundary from a Rod Marsh ,I think, hook, in the famous Test Tsunami describes.

His bowling in the victorious 86-87 Ashes Tour to 'Oz was,in my opinion, his finest series for England, using the new ball superbly to consistently take Aussie wickets.

RIP.
