I'd suspect that later on today (or when the day begins across in the US) that far more planes will appear. There tends to be a lot less air traffic during nights. It's night time over there atm (or at least when the link was posted) so the traffic is low. Ah right, didn't realise that was related to his comment on the US. Especially when planes regularly appear in obscure places around the globe. Anyway, there aren't that many flight paths that cross over central US, excluding domestic flights.
