Favourite non-NUFC players to watch

Dejan Savicevic. Ridiculously great ball control.

Redondo. The perfect defensive midfielder at his best.

Denilson. Flopped after his big move, but even so, loved the flair he showed and the way he played the game.

Roberto Carlos. Was remarkeable seeing a left back carrying a team forward on such a regular basis with such skill/effectiveness, and thanks to his ridiculous stamina levels, he used to be involved in the play so much it was as though he were two players rolled into one (a winger and a fullback), more so than any other fullback/wingback in the "modern era" imo. Brilliant player who was a key reason for Madrid winning 3x CL's during his time there (and had a solid 2002 WC too).

At times Madrid used to play with no left-winger because they had Roberto Carlos.. so they thought we might as well worry about other sides on the field..incredible players.

See Barça when Messi used to play right side for a more up to date version in the form of Dani Alves.

from the past.....platini.

currently, beyond the obvious messi etc....yaya toure (and i'll take a little detour here into the difference between watching  a game live and watching on the box, i don't think toure played any better than normal the day we played down there but live you realise more the effect he has on the game, the way he physically imposes himself on games just doesn't come over on the big one light box brain scrambler in the corner of the room)

Not one of my favourites, but as he's on Goals on Sunday now, absolutely phenomenal player before he injured his knee. Used to love watching him play as a bairn.

Scary when you think of the strikers England had back then compared to now.
