A mate gave me his usb pen drive to hoy some films on for when he is offshore however after deleting what was on there and copying the first film is wouldnt let me do anything else as the drive was write protected.

I have checked and there is no switch on the pen drive to manually disable it.

I have been through the whole saga of regedit etc and all three writeprotect keys are set to 0.

Have tried a few online help forums but they are all giving the same advice so if any of you brainy lot can think of another option i would be most grateful. Cheers

Find a copy of Linux that runs off a cd (if you don't use Linux) and let Gparted have a go at it

He has got it back now but when hes home i will give it a shot cheers

Has rescued buggered memory sticks for me and returned them to fully operational goodness, when Windows wouldn't even acknowledge that they were actually plugged in.  Worth a go, anyway.

Cheers for your help mate
