Newcastle nightlife

This thread has probably been done. Anyway, I'm heading to the Toon the weekend after next, I'll be there for a Friday and Saturday night. I'm 24 and hate the likes of the Bigg Market (I've been over a few times). Anywhere decent to hit then? Any good gigs or anything next week or any good clubs the locals can recommend for a Friday and/or Saturday night?

I guess this thread can be used for clueless out of towners like me for when we come in to Newcastle. I've no idea bar what I've experience years ago. I was younger back then and know the places I went to have zero appeal now (The Gate, that kind of place).

That Tyne Bar place sounds lethal.

What does that even mean?

This.  So man different things it could mean!

Lethal is Irish slang for good or brilliant. I thought it was used in more places than just Ireland though.

i.e. "That United vs. Newcastle game was lethal."

You guys should be proud of your city, unbelievable spot. I took a few friends over as well and everyone is now obsessed with the place, even had one singing Newcastle songs all day in Sam Jacks today. I really want to live in that city.

On a serious note, where do people go in town these days? Only had a handful of night-outs since I've been back over summer and every single time I've ended up in some god awful club surround by cunts far too far up their own arse.
