for using a pc, what differnce will there be between 720 and 1080 pixels?  this is a resolution thing?

Can i get away with using a 720pixel lcd for games play?  tbhi suspect the 1080 pixel ones are beyong my budget.

(prefer to buy without borrowing money if possible)

How much worse is a lcd tv compared to a lcd monitor?  I am using a targa visionary 19" (not widescreen) atmo.  90 quid from lidls about 4/5 years ago.

Willi have problems reading text on a 27" 720pixel display?    ie a game with alot of txt in the display will be hard to play?

thanks)

Supported Resolutions 1080i (HDTV), 480i (SDTV), 480p (EDTV), 720p (HDTV)

so thats got nothing to do with game resolution??

Display Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels

i assume a 1080 tv can still display a higher resolution overall.....so reallly it comes down to is a 720 ok for reading text on.  I assume for websurfing a lcd tv would be worse for reading websites than a dedicated monitor?

Is it a dreadful sign of my advancing years that I notice no difference between 1080i and 1080p..? When sitting at normal gaming distance, they appear to be identical to all intents and purposes :undecided:

720p is better than 1080i.

erm do i sense there some marketing hyperbole goingon here then?  I vaguely recall from amiga days something about interlaced display....dont really recall what it meant tbh.  Most folk would assume 1080 was better than 720.  SO 1080p is the best of the lot then?
