Reds 2-5 Blues - 10/03/13 - post-match reaction from page 35

IMPORTANT

I have booked the NORTHUMBRIA pitch at Coach Lane Campus in Longbenton for a 2 1/2 hour slot, from 10:30am till 1pm.

The Four Lane Ends metro link is a five-minute walk away.

Pitch is rubber crumb so I would say metal studs are a no-go on this surface, however I'm sure people have worn blades in the past. Astro trainers are obviously acceptable. Shin pads obligatory.

Cost altogether is £117 so will be splitting that accordingly, based on how many turn up. Basically we're looking at £4-5 a head. Pls dnt 4get pls.

I'm envisaging an 11am kick-off, roughly. Plenty of time to play the game and sort yourself out before the Newcastle game, if you're going.

Would love to see plenty of people up for this. I shouldn't need to sell the idea; they've always been a good laugh with a reasonably competitive nature. In the past, the standard of football has ranged from poor-to-decent, so you don't need to be dead good. That's not what it's really about. You don't even have to play if you don't want to, just come along for the laugh.

By March I'll hopefully have some fitness from the approaching 6-a-side season restarting and I'll probably come back up for the weekend. Been ages since one of these.

Wasn't sure if you could commit to it when i first mentioned it to you, Pilkster. I've put you down.

I'll come along to watch... I play 10-11am on a Saturday so could even offer possible substitute cover if desperate but at my age I'm really only a 5-A-Side player... Would be nice to see you all for the first time though if the offer is there...

Honestly mate, it doesn't matter what your usual preferred size of pitch is, skill, or fitness. As I'm not one to talk on any of those fronts. Come along.

how'd you do that?

Was in nets not exactly sure maybe landed on it funny, but needed an operation cause my 5th metacarpal was 1 cm displaced.  Rocker made me try to play on in warm up took another shot nearly threw up with pain, then stopped and went to a&e.
