Hidden gems as in places to visit. Places that hold a special memory in your heart and where you love to spend time.

I love spending time in the summer at this place;

Used to visit this place a lot when I was a kid, with the family. Endless hours of playing beside (and in) the River Breamish and also climbing some of the hills around the valley with my old man. :) Also not too far from this place - Linhope Spout (the highest waterfall in Northumberland) Water is feckin freezing there, but totally refreshing at the same time.

Druridge bay is pretty awesome too, thats not far from me at all, the beach can get canny full in the summer like, had many a good time there.

Obviously now hidden gems like but Bamburgh and and Dunstenburgh are pretty scenic too. Favourites of mine in Northumberland.

Kielder Forest is supposed to be nice, been but pretty much too young to remember. Alnwick is probably one of my favorite places in the North East, lovely little place. Alnwick gardens are supposed to be worth a look too.

The North East and in particular Northumberland has some pretty awesome places to offer, pretty beautiful countryside and scenery. Love it!

There are some amazing places in the Cheviots.  The College Valley is private and you pay to park up at the top of it, but lovely.  The border ridge between Windy Gyle and Auchope Cairn on Cheviot is stunning, and there are some reasonably easy ways to get to it although all involve a fair bit of hill climbing and a couple of hours' walk.

I don't seem to have kept my picture from the ridge into Scotland.  This is the only one I can find that I took up there, but it's not really representative of the view (it is representative of what the weather is sometimes like, however)

And, of course, the Simonside hills at Rothbury, my usual dog walking area :)

Stunning photo's mate! :cool:

I've also got a big soft spot for this place;

Cambois beach. Most people outside of the village think it is a shit-hole, but having spent so much time there as a kid (particularly on the beach) and given that most of my family is from there originally, it's my kind of shit-hole. :cool:
