Think we can get a result here. We do have a (somewhat new) air of unpredictability now so don't think Villas-Boas/Spurs can really "figure us out" so to speak. Probably a bit too optimistic there but we shall see.

A difficult game right now - they are playing well and getting results, Bale esp in top goal-scoring form. They will be anxious to build on their good run in order to try for CL, and if we get anything here, we will have well and truly earned it.

The midfield battle will be interesting esp if Tiote is back alongside Cabaye and Sissoko and we will certainly give them a tough game, hopefully better than last season there....

My worries centre more on our defence, esp the FBs who are good at going forward, less so in defence and we need to keep the ball when we gain possession.

Will be delighted with a draw.

Sit off a bit and try to get Bale 1 v 1 against anybody with space behind to run into, I'd have thought. Haven't watched much of Spurs this season so not sure to what extent sitting off a bit is part of AVB's vocabulary these days

Bale is on fire at the moment and will give us all sort of problems but our midfield can really give them something to think about too. Sissoko is a nightmarish type of player to pick up because he's an absolutel powerhouse who can finesse it hovering between midfield and attack. Gouffran offers us a real threat with his speed too.

He is going to tear Debuchy a new one, Agbonlahor did he too easily last week. Important that Jonas/Gouffran help him a lot

He'd tear most people a new one to be honest, agreed about Jonas helping out. Tiote covering should help too (assuming he plays and doesn't just foul him )

Third game in a row I'm going to miss completely live (either in person or on telly).

There's only one thing that can happen, really.

Tottenham 0-4 Newcastle. All from corners, probably.

 Aye he will, we need to make sure Bale doesnt get him one on one too much.

Probably a stupid idea, but would anyone consider playing Mbiwa at right back to counter the threat of Bale.

No chance, Bale spent yesterday drifting to the right a lot so would be a waste adapting the back four to play him. We just need to make sure he gets cut off early.

I think we can beat these guys so I'll go for an optimistic 0-3.

It's unlikely but we can. The Chelsea result has afforded us a little bit of freedom given that the other sides around us have difficult matches too. We can atleast go there and play without so much panick. Guarantee they will already be worried about Sissoko and the danger he brings.
