Unpopular opinions

 Few and far between, tbh. Not tried chicken livers though so I'll give that a shot. Wings are decent to cut off and break up to fry for gravy, but for whatever meat I'm roasting it with or on onions, garlic & herbs or whatever. And making sure the juices dont boil away and are kept for the gravy. I do sometimes cheat tbf and put a bit of granules in to thicken when I cant be fucked to make a roux.

In fairness to @OpenC they do say that if you lose 1 sense the others become stronger, so it’s clear that your heightened sense of smell from your fancy deodorant collection has impaired you sense of taste.

I will say, there are more pubs in Dublin that serve shite Guinness that there are that serves good but the best Guinness pubs in Dublin are so far ahead of anywhere else on the island. Every town here will have a pub thats renowned for its Guinness but even still its not as good as the best in Dublin.

As for abroad there isn’t good Guinness to be found. I’ve given up ordering it in the UK because it’s absolute slop. I worked in Irish pubs in NYC for years too and even around this time of year when there’d be a good run on the kegs it was still never passable for me.

There are plenty of marketing myths around Guinness that i agree are shite but I’ve yet to taste any evidence that the top Dublin pints can be matched elsewhere.

i'd love to drop a dumb american take on this gravy debate but I'm about 80% certain our two country's gravies are violently disparate.

instead a different unpopular opinion - wearing socks to bed is comfortable and normal.

While I don't disagree, it a also deprives you of the joy of removing socks after a long day. I don't think the benefit outweighs that loss.

Guinness related. Haven't been to Ireland in probably over a decade now, used to go regular for a few years, Dublin and Drogheda..... have the pubs opened up any ? Everywhere was Guinness, Smithwicks (sp), Budweiser on draft and I think a Guinness lager, like everywhere, no smaller breweries or independents.

Budweiser not on tap anywhere really anymore. I'd say Guinness, Smithwicks, Rockshore are the most popular on draught now.

Craft beer on tap has got a touch more popular outside of the major cities.

The Office US is better without Michael.

The cast of characters they got to replace him was solid, but it wasn’t really The Office without him.

All but Catherine Tate. Robert California was a great character.

I run way too hot for this. Have to sneak a naked foot out the covers at all times.

Smithwicks red ale is alright.  I did enjoy the local stouts and red ales in cork when I was there.

Surely he means putting on new, clean, socks for sleeping in right? Right? We're not talking about going to bed in our nasty ass worked all day socks are we??

I've been known to wash my feet before bed if it's been more than like, four hours between my shower and turning in though.

Just had an absolutely awful Guinness in Newcastle....

No wonder, it's literally impossible to transport it without it turning into water mate. Take it more than 25 miles from St James' Gate and no matter how carefully you handle it, when you open the tap there's just a bit of sawdust and fluff comes phutting out :( It's not so much brewed as manually constructed at the molecular level and that all breaks down if it's not consumed within 30 minutes and within spitting distance of Temple Bar.

I didn't notice Dublin being better specifically, but I found Guinness was definitely better in Ireland.  The best pint of Guinness I've had was outside a little pub near the Giant's Causeway.

Something else I discovered in Ireland is what an amazing combination Guinness and oysters is.
