My never ending bother with laptops continue and my screen is fucked. It was sat on the sofa, slid off and the screen is cracked. It still works but the ink has ran so I can only see about 1/4th of the screen.

Any idea how to get it fixed and the approx cost? computer shop my best bet or are they easy to change yourself? Not under warranty like. HP Pavillion g6.

Cheers.

Really easy to do. It's usually attached by a flattened cable covered in foil - basically take the plastic surrounding off your laptop case, unscrew the screen that's in there and detach the cable connection.

Use blunt tools like a butter spreader or something to pop the plastic shell apart, if you use something too tough or sharpish it kinda ruins the plastic joins putting the shell back together
