Loads............but more areas then cities. Lake district,Peak district, Budle bay, Druridge bay, Hadrians wall (particularly between Birdoswald and Housesteads), Collage valley, Ingram valley, Simonside. LOADS Anad LOADS and LOADS

Incidentally if it's positivity you're looking for, the UK (and Ireland) are up there with the very best places in the world for scenery, without a shadow of a doubt.

 

These are beautiful islands we inhabit.

Went on a canal boat trip when I was young, all around southern/mid England. Some really nice places down there, robin hood country, around Cambridge, Norfolk etc.

Just got back from a weekend in Whitehaven. If you get good weather it can be lovely. Historic and interesting harbour. e.g. Washington's grandmother is buried there, the NYC grid system is based on Whitehaven's, Cunard liners originated there as did Quaker Oats...I could go on.

 

 

Also it's the 'gateway' to the lakes, so win/win.
