Ameritoon Posted Wednesday at 20:30 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:30 One of my favorite players as a kid who didn't know anything about football. Kind of nice to see him back in England
TRon Posted Wednesday at 20:37 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:37 Glad he's got a job, he seems like a decent sort. Don't think a former Man U legend is necessarily the right fit for a low profile PL club though.

Pixelphish Posted Wednesday at 21:13 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:13 His record at PSV was good. Rather a left field like that then whatever the PFM circuit looks like at the moment.
KaKa Posted Wednesday at 21:17 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:17 Has huge potential to be a real laugh if he does well there and Man United struggle under Amorim.
Pixelphish Posted Wednesday at 21:20 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:20 I'm sure Coventry fans are relishing they're likely to end up with Lampard while Leicester get Ruud.
Kimbo Posted Wednesday at 21:46 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:46 It’s just a gamble, it might pay off but probably won’t. I’m assuming Moyes didn’t fancy it, he seemed the obvious choice to me.
Yorkie Posted Wednesday at 21:53 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:53 Really interesting appointment, that. No research at all here but when I think of that PL era that he was a part of, its wrought next to fuck all in terms of decent managers, so I wonder if he can buck the trend. Henry, Solskjaer, Shearer, Hasselbaink, Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Zola, Vieira... not completely bereft of honours but Christ it's slim pickings. Menace Posted Thursday at 05:49 Share Posted Thursday at 05:49 Fair play, Maresca was a huge risk as well and that worked out well.

Looking at all the managers that have come from Eredvise to England in recent seasons, way it’s going, Slot may be the only good one De Boer / Cocu / Ten Haag all had major limitations and failings despite winning titles. Troll Posted Thursday at 10:27 Share Posted Thursday at 10:27 I don't think it's really that bad of an appointment. Did well at Derby, then ended up out of his depth at two of the most dysfunctional clubs in the Premier League. I think he's a much better manager than the likes of Gerrard and Rooney. I actually tend to agree, he did well at Derby like you say, even if they had a really good squad, got Chelsea Champions League football and to an FA Cup final, despite having a transfer embargo, and kept Everton up when coming in mid-season. Its not amazing by any stretch but its not horrendous.
Kid Icarus Posted Thursday at 10:44 Share Posted Thursday at 10:44 When Lampard's inevitably sacked within 6 months can we actually send him to Coventry this time?

wormy Posted Thursday at 11:55 Share Posted Thursday at 11:55 I have no reason to do so, but I believe Ruud will do alright at Leicester. He just gives me the vibe of someone that'll give most clubs a few solid years before he gets stale and moves on to the next task. Lampard will be as mediocre as usual.
