Need to send Neil some messages of thank you, he's absolutely spot on with his comments. I hope more press do the same, this needs to be a Hicks/Gillet Liverpool situation, it needs to be talked about every day in the press, and hopefully some opportunistic businessman or company steps in and buys us.

Thank him for what?

waiting for the s*** hit the fan to start speaking the truth?

Take what you can get. Enough is enough.

Good points about the bank and such...totally different situations.

Not comparing the situations per se but I'm talking about the press creating the impression that somebody's a bad owner.

The image the press creates is incredibly influential to the casual public. Life becomes much more difficult for owners when that happens.

Don't worry, I agree with you. I'm just saying the issue here, from a financial or logistic point of view is there isn't a bank forcing any transaction or marketing anything to be sold here, we are sound financially and its all in the parent company's name that is owned by Mike Ashley. It's going to have to take a bid of a reasonable amount and Mike finally having such an uncomfortable time that he's going to just agree to sell once and for all.

Newcastle United refuse to take questions from Chronicle following derby defeat

NUFC manager Pardew was gagged by his press officer in front of the national media following this afternoon's 2-1 defeat on Wearside

Alan Pardew refused to take questions from the Chronicle, Journal and Sunday Sun after Newcastle United's 2-1 loss to Sunderland .

The club believe that the Chronicle's coverage of the the Mike Ashley protest before the game with Liverpool was too harsh.

And subsequently, Pardew was gagged by his Press officer in front of the national media after the painful reverse on Wearside as he lost his second successive derby.

However, Pardew did say to the rest of the Press pack: "We had two or three good chances at 1-1.

"If we'd taken one it could have been different.

"Unfortunately we didn't get it.

"They had one chance in the second half and smashed it in."

Pardew was then asked questions by both the Journal and Chronicle but before answering the questions was stopped by club Press officer Wendy Taylor who said: "Sorry you can't ask any questions."

Pardew was then asked by the national media why he wouldn't answer questions but did not respond.

He did go on to say: "I feel really disappointed for our fans.

"And for the team, they didn't deserve that.

"They deserved to win."

Pardew was then asked again by the Chronicle to answer a question but was stopped for a second time by the club's Press officer.

It is understood that the decision to ban the Chronicle and sister titles was made collectively by Alan Pardew, Joe Kinnear, Lee Charnley, John Irving and Mike Ashley

Tbf he was critical of Shepherd as well. Neil's a good guy along with one or two others.

What were these chances, man? Just pure lies, for goodness sake. Shola fashioned a shot which was a half-chance at best. Santon's no. Not even a half-chance.

3 or 4 hopeful shots taken outside of the box that were a good foot or 2 wide...all half chances IIRC

Even our goal was turned in after a mis-hit shot. Just an utter lie to say we created anything at all other than attempts from distance.

That last line should read:  Four yes men decided to lick Ashley's balls.

Yep. Until the winner, it was a carbon copy of the abortion Allardyce oversaw a few years back. A shambolic performance where we were bullied from the first minute, saved only by a fluky equaliser. The Mackems deserved their winner today because they wanted it more and, above all, created two clear-cut chances - both of which were dispatched. We didn't want it enough, created nowt and deserved absolutely fuck all and came away with exactly that.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Ashley has no business owning a club. Maybe you can get away with this shit in the retail world, but this is a business dependent on an audience. They have absolutely no appreciation for the business they're in. Might as well hire people to spit in supporters' faces at the gate.

Eventually it will attract national coverage and they'll have a Gillet/Hicks at Liverpool situation on their hands.

With respect, stick to what you know. Liverpool fans have a tribal mentality, our lot generally eat shit for a living.

What do you mean by eat shit for a living and how is that mutually exclusive with tribal mentality?

They see themselves as a deserving entity and when wronged they'll do whatever they must as group to remedy it. Our lot just accept and keep going.

You seem quick to generalize. I suspect a venomous local press will change attitudes very quickly.

Well done Time 4 Change. Couldn't have hoped for such a poor strategic reaction from the club.

Hopefully, this will now give added impetus to the movement to organise more anti Ashley demos, and the local and national press get on board to give Ashley the negative publicity that he won't enjoy.

These things are usually pointless but now is definitely the time to try a few more. 2 home games in the next week should help.

Ronaldo is right, unfortunately. Our support is far too divided to unite against anything, so what will happen will happen.

.....but he deserves the chance to turn it around...

10 wins in 51. Like fuck does he. This isn't a blip, this isn't a run of poor luck it's chronic, sustained mismanagement of his football team. He's responsible for results and performance and both have been fucking dreadful for months on end. I can guarantee that some will point to the league table and say we're comfortable in 10th and continue to make excuses for him though. Just a 'wonder strike', got caught on the break, didn't deserve to lose etc.

Another shockingly bad performance when it mattered most. But let's keep him as we may appoint someone a bit worse. Magic.

Fucking sick.

True, but as most of the impartial lot take the local rags view of things as gospel, they can just as easily be turned by a concerted negative approach from the Journal etc.  It's about time the local press and fans join together to get rid of these cockney tossers once and for all.
