In reply to an NUFC fan questioning Schar only being on the bench a kid on twitter suggested it speaks volumes of the job Howe's done and puts the "money" aspect in perspective.

Schar bench, Bruno bench, Pope bench, Wilson bench, Botman didn't make the squad, Joe didn't make the squad. All major players for us.

Botman not making the squad is still mental as fuck to me.

Cos the World Cup is mid season and there was only one week between the leagues pausing and kick off a lot of the squads /starting 11 were probably nailed down 3 months ago. No matter what the form is like a lot of managers probably don’t want to fiddle with defensive partnerships, especially at CB and between CBs and GKs.

had it been in summer with a training camp and friendlies am sure things would be different.

Dare I say this World Cup has been good so far?

Seems most of the fans just enjoying themselves also - have only heard good things about the Saudi people and organisation

yeah a few england fans  over there interviewed on 5live this morning saying that unexpectedly the lack of alcohol has made it more enjoyable.

no hangovers, not being worried about getting lost after a game, losing things etc and just generally enjoying the games more.

a few of them had been to 6 or 7 each already.

praised the organisation and the locals.

Could get used to having four live games on TV on a Saturday. PL need to consider a 10:00, 13:00, 16:00 and 19:00 live match day.

12:30 games are normally flat as anything, imagine how bad a 10am game would be
