New Dark Side of the Ring

One of the most enjoyable this season for me. Maybe because it's an area I didn't know a great deal about other than having seen a few clips of matches. I was surprised to see Terry Funk talking. I guess those interviews were done a while back though.

Really good AEW Dynamite show. Great opener, and great ladder match. Glad Hangman is back, he is my favourite.

I knew I was completely in on AEW when I actually raged a little at the Shida-Deeb finish.

Great show overall last night and looking forward to Hangman's challenge despite knowing never seeing his work outside of this one match.

I'm entirely new from checking out Punk's arrival out of curiosity and ironically he's one of the things I'm most tired of right now - do we really need his entrance every week and mostly empty platitudes promo just telling fans how happy he is to be back wrestling? Or am I just being a killjoy?

I was shocked to see a headline that it drew a record low number of viewers across all three seasons. I found it one of the most intriguing episodes.

I suppose that kind of episode appeals more to the wrestling fan. I would imagine episodes with bigger, more well-known names in America, would draw higher numbers of viewers? Suspect the Plane Ride From Hell episode likely did well, even though there wasn't much 'new' information in the episode.

True. Found it hard to concentrate on the plane ride from hell purely because they were just repeating everything I read either online or even maybe in Power Slam as a 13 year old.

Can't wait for Kingston-Punk now. Hopefully it brings some more intensity out of Punk.

Oh, and I know it seemed to get a mixed reaction but I fucking loved Wednesday's main event. I want a TNT run for Johnny Hungee.

Yeah, I thought Wed's Dynamite was decent, love the effort Kenny puts in to story telling.

Just watched Rampage, not a huge fan of Abadon but quite enjoyed the match, the table no breaking (twice) looked pretty brutal. Everything Eddie Kingston does is class, but i can't get on board with him being a radge badass as I just think he seems like a really decent bloke 😆

Happened to come across a Twitch channel called pinkbluemug that's just playing WCW and WWF in chronological order from the 90s onwards. Been good to relive it through older eyes as I was 10 when WCW went under. Think it's due to show the final Nitro some time tomorrow afternoon which I hope to catch even though I could probably find it somewhere online right now if I really wanted.

They've got another channel showing 'old' AEW which I'll probably move to once WCW is finished and until TNA pops up on this channel.

Oh and the Kingston/Punk face off last night was brilliant. Really glad to see the more intense side of Punk coming back.

AEW Full Gear PPV tonight at 1am. Strong card. Looking forward to it.

Hangman has to win the title, it's his time.

Looks like half a card to me. You have the title match, Punk, Danielson, maybe the MJF/Allan match and who knows if FTR can get something from their match. The rest doesn't interest me. Booking the Hogan brothers on any card is a way to get me not to buy in, unfortunately. The sooner they see them out the door, the better AEW will get.

I think it's a strong card but I respect your opinion. See how the PPV goes.

20 quid is a good price point for me.

It was a good PPV. One or two dodgy moments in there, such as the finish to FTR v Lucha Bros, although the match itself was brilliant. Some of the work by the MMA guys was awful though, hope they disappear back into oblivion. Dan Lambert's mic skills was the only positive of that entire run.

Interested to see what they do with the young bucks now or if that was just a one off show of respect type thing they did at the end.

Wor Geordie Pac killed it, again.
