Other clubs' transfers

Recommended Posts

Probably the gazillionth post of a similar nature (and maybe the fourth by me), but the transfer market is now horribly broken because of the mega spenders.

It's like Zimbabwean-style hyperinflation. Managed yourself sensibly, stayed on the right side of PSR and got £20m to spend in your transfer kitty? Nah, you can't afford anyone.

It's a joke. Hope women's football learns early and adopts a socialist style NFL model before it's too late.

How could they possible afford Sesko and Baleba? This is another 150m on top of the 150m they've already spent.

Because it's all in instalments, plus there's £120m on the credit facility. I thought it was £100m but The Athletic reported more yesterday.

It's a gamble if it goes wrong, but I suppose the idea is that these players will have good resale value.

Yeah I'm aware but it's still what a 100m year one outlay for a club with no money according to Brexit Jim.

I think we can just take that he was lying through his back teeth and sacking a lot of people was just for the lols.

One of cartel trying to unsettle a player so they can low ball the club, no way.

Brighton will rape them for a monster fee. For Baleba, see Caicedo previously. On the plus side, it’ll show Ratcliffe further for the grim snakey Brexit fucker he is. Pleading poverty? Bitch please.

£20m for Broja is absolutely ridiculous, the guy has scored two league goals in the last three seasons, how on earth do Chelsea get these sort of fees?

Also made a profit on Ugochukwu despite him having a pretty average season at Southampton.

Burnley will finish rock bottom with these sort of signings.

Well Cunha and Mbeumo is around £36m. Say Baleba and Sesko would be around the same. The cash balance was around £75m so that checks out. Theoretically should be able to make those signings through instalments without any additional debt although it's obviously a risk if we didn't get into Europe again next season.

I think we had 400-500 more staff than Liverpool as well by the way. Redundancies and cuts were absolutely required. His hyperbolic language didn't help things though.

It is additional debt though, just not paid in the first year. As your obviously exhausting your cash pile.

To be fair to you, you didn't make up these ridiculous rules and we aren't doing anything about it either so it's firm is what it is territory.

The gamble will be Ratcliffe / Glazers sell a small % and it’s back to square one. Theres no ramifications for continuous spending if you are a top club.

There’s always a way out that’s different to the rest.

Pretty certain the Glazers were a driving force along with Levy, the Kroenkes and FSG to prevent City, Leicester and NUFC type scenarios occurring.

Yeah his club has hands all over it. But I was speaking about Frogman on a personal level.

Most football fans grow up wanting to play for their local football team,  to rise through the ranks and play with your boyhood club's first team and be successful. That's the ultimate dream.

Your heroes and inspirations are often those who have a similar background to you who through hard work and dedication are now playing at an elite level with amazing players.  It gives young boys and girls hope that they can do that one day.

PSR completely ruins that dream because clubs and owners know that any young homegrown prospect have to be sold to enable more wiggle room in the transfer market.

It's so shit that the likes of us with Elliot Anderson and Villa with a number of their youngsters have been developed from a young age only to then be sold for some backward rules that completely hinder what football is all about

Just my take on it anyway
