Kid Icarus
Think Bandit just had his heart set on Dibling, poor lad. Would have been a strange signing for us in the current circumstances like.

He's not your typical deeper CM, but then if we've got Bruno, Joelinton, Tonali for that, we probably want someone who can play ahead of them in an attacking shape. He's young enough to mould into the CM/CAM profile a club would want long term. It's getting to OTT prices, but if we're looking at £45m mark for a CM, I really don't think you can go wrong with Dibling. Always have been and always will be, a massive advocate of this current English generation. The talent pool is an absolute joke. I concede that I've only seen him play on the right for Southampton so I wasn't aware of his ability to play centrally. I would suggest he's not quite in the image of a Newcastle central midfielder, and I'm also unsure as to whether Howe will ever want to have or use an attacking midfielder in the traditional sense. My impression is that it would have to a player like Paqueta who blends combative physicality with flair and technique. I'm sure we will continue to look to English prospects whilst we have Howe as our manager, and I personally am in favour of that approach. English players seem to be getting better technically with each passing generation, it's just up to us to identify the ones who have the physicality to make it in our playing style. Hall, Anderson, Miley and Livramento are all so impressive in that regard.
Sima
Chelsea getting nearly all their money back for Dewsbury-Hall. Theres no comeuppance for these cartel clubs.

Even if the players the buy are flopping they get back all the money they spent and more. Looked like a hopeless strategy some time a go, but its golden right now. Presume AEK are loaded as they have Martial and Lamela on their books who you'd imagine are getting paid a decent bunce Lamela.....that goal..... Edit: I looked it up on YouTube and he actually done it twice, the second time was from outside the box into the top corner. Him and the Newcastle nightlife would not make good bedfellows. Might as well just pay his wages directly into bar bank accounts across the City. Optimistic Nut
If we could get someone like Brentford to bite for Murphy (£20m or so) then I'd go for Dibling for double. Don't think we'd need Murphy then. Elanga is his direct replacement, Dibling the long term future. Edited August 4, 2025 by Optimistic Nut
