Going there with Ederson though, you’re probably looking at him having had a few injuries, only got one year on his contract etc. Fairly easy to think you’ll just sit tight for a bit then get your chance. Not too dissimilar to coming here with Pope really.

 

However, they go out and sign arguably one of the best keepers in the world coming into his prime, that’s completely different.

Is that true?  Never heard of a ‘forced buyback’ clause; seems incredible that it’s possible without the player’s permission.
